There are so many exciting ways to use Corriglas and it’s good value too. If you want plenty of light, lasting protection form the sun, and a great home feature, start by drawing up a simple plan.

Peace of Mind Warranty 

Corri-glas sheeting is warranted by Ampelite to give long service under normal usage. Protection against water penetration through the fibreglass sheet (as detailed in the warranty) is for a period of ten years from the date of purchase. Damage from heavy hail up to 15mm in diameter, in high winds, is covered for five years. Please download a copy of our Corriglas brochure for the warranty.

Correct Installation is Important

Corri-glas fibreglass sheeting is fixed and flashed on similar principles as steel roofing. Minimum fall is 5 degrees. Start by fixing the first sheet at the end farthermost from the usual wind direction. If end laps are necessary, start at the bottom corner. Corri-glas Corrugated and Greca sheets should be crest-fixed at every second or third corrugation at the ends and every third or fourth corrugation on intermediate supports. Corri-glas 5 Rib sheets should be crest-fixed on every rib at both ends and on every second rib on intermediate supports. Always use Ampelite fixing screws and weather seals.

Allowance needs to be made when drilling screw holes so that the sheet can move freely as it expands and contracts. Screw holes must have a minimum diameter of 10mm. Avoid over-tightening as this may cause the sheet to crack or split. Please download a copy and carefully follow the Corri-glas Installation Guide

Handy Tips
You could try making some practice holes using an off-cut or part of a sheet which will be covered by ridging or flashings, etc. You may find it easier to drill the hole for the screw first and then enlarge this to 10mm for the washer.

As with all plastic roofing products, Corri-glas is subject to the effects of weathering and the very high levels of ultra-violet light which are present in New Zealand.
